DORMAGEN – Polymer materials manufacturer Covestro says it has commenced industrial production of novel products based on carbon dioxide (CO2) from its plant in Dormagen, Germany. The company claims a breakthrough in manufacturing processes, which use the climate gas to produce a key component used in foams for mattresses and upholstered furniture, can revolutionise plastics production, as it repurposes CO2 as a raw material.
