Super strong silk? Just add graphene ...

Researchers have found a way to make ultra-strong silk fibres even tougher by adding graphene or single-walled nanotubes to the diet of silkworms in order to produce reinforced silk threads. It’s thought that this new super-strength silk could be used for biomedical implants, super-durable protective fabrics, outdoor wear, military textiles and wearable electronic silks due to their new found electro-conductivity.
