HUDDERSFIELD – Yorkshire textiles firm Camira has partnered with the University of Huddersfield to explore the potential for more sustainable flame retardant fabric finishes.

The university’s Professor Parik Goswami is leading the Technical Textile Research Centre’s contribution, and insists the work supports its commitment to the Textiles 2030 initiative launched by WRAP earlier this year.

“We’re focused on using chemistry from the natural environment to support the region’s businesses to become more sustainable,” said Goswami. “It’s exciting to harness natural resources to give Yorkshire companies the cutting edge when facing tomorrow’s challenges.”
