MÜHLHAUSEN – After picking up the ‘Innovation Award’ at the recent Techtextil trade show, garment manufacturer, Peterseim Strickwaren, drew attention to the versatile applications that basalt textile fibre could have across a range of applications. The company used basalt, derived from volcanic rock, to create protective fabrics that prevent offshore wind farms and other marine structures from being damaged – without the need for harsh chemical treatments.
