EMERYVILLE - With the first fruits of a new collaboration with sustainability-conscious fashion house Stella McCartney set to be unveiled at an exhibition in New York in October, biotech start up Bolt Threads says its closed-loop manufacturing processes offer a new direction for the future of high performance fabrics. The company claims the one-off dress, which is designed by Stella McCartney, showcases ‘Bolt Microsilk’ as a commercially viable product for the future. Tony Whitfield reports.
