NEW YORK – US fashion giant PVH Corp, which owns Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, has joined chemical recycling specialist Carbios' consortium to boost fibre to fibre recycling.

Carbios linked up with apparel brands Puma, Patagonia, On and Salomon last year to launch the consortium which aims to advance recycling infrastructure so that Carbios’ proprietary technology can operate at scale.

The brands will collaborate to test and enhance Carbios’ enzyme-based recycling technology which breaks down plastic waste to its core monomers which are then used as the building blocks of virgin-grade materials.
