WASHINGTON – The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has written to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in revolt of proposed changes to a ruling that it’s feared would muddy the waters of what athletic footwear is.

CBP’s planned revocation of NY N285583, NY NY299433, and other related rulings seeks to group a more diverse bracket of footwear styles into one; this, it’s feared could undermine much of the existing market’s efforts over recent decades to provide athleisure footwear that pairs both style and comfort.
