BOSTON – Clothing company Converse has developed what it describes a “material toolkit” which will be leveraged for the footwear it designs and manufactures going forward.

Comprising a stretch canvas, foam and outsole rubber, the toolkit strips back product design to its bare essentials which in turn could enable a circular lifecycle.

“We’ve always been a progressive brand, but as we enter a new decade we see an incredible opportunity to push the boundaries of our own design and product ethos,” said Phil Russo, global vice president of design and innovation at Converse.
