MUNICH – Functional textile manufacturer Sympatex has increased the proportion of bio-based material content in its membrane to more than 25 per cent.

The company says the achievement, which follows several years of research, involves sourcing bio-based materials from organic waste streams and will be rolled out this year.

"At the same time, Sympatex will ensure that the membrane not only retains its high performance values in terms of breathability as well as water- and windproofness, but also remains fully recyclable at the end of its life cycle," said a company statement.
