CUPERTINO - US technology company Apple has applied to patent what it’s calling a “textile-based touch-sensitive device”, which could see the tech giant further its exploration of smart textiles. 

Apple cited many uses for touch-sensitive textiles which are not directly linked to its current products, including “articles of clothing, clothing accessories, handbags, upholstered items, household textiles, and other items that may include a textile component or element".
