EDE – A Dutch textile chemicals company has filed a dossier with the European Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) in a bid to gain approval to sell garments and fabrics treated with permethrin – a synthetic insecticide (biocide) found in mosquito spray. It’s hoped that a successful application will assist in preventing the further spread of the Zika virus (ZIKV) – a mosquito borne infection which has recently hit the headlines following a global rise in confirmed cases.
