HANOI – Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has called on its commercial affair offices operating abroad to connect with businesses that could source raw materials to be leveraged in the South east Asian nation in the manufacture of face masks.

This comes as the novel coronavirus continues to spread around the globe. Deputy minister Dang Hoang An has issued a statement with the backing of the country’s Ministry of Health which calls for the broader implementation of solutions to mitigate risk.

An suggests that textile manufacturers may soon need to halt trading to focus solely on the production of face masks. “Production capacity may reach 30 million products per day in this case,” he said.
