LAHORE – The share of domestic sales in Pakistan’s textile industry has overtaken exports, according to the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA). Textile sales in local markets is worth US$13.7 billion out of an overall domestic and foreign market totalling US$26 billion, APTMA says. Pakistani textile products still only make up 32 per cent of the domestic market, with 24 per cent being smuggled items and 44 per cent being imports.
