FLORIDA – New research out of Florida State University is looking at re-shaping the design of PPE for firefighters, in a bid to maximise protection and minimise heat build-up. Led by assistant professor, Meredith McQuerry, the research team suggests eliminating unnecessary additional padding whilst upholding the same level of burn protection, subsequently improving breathability.
