WEST LAFAYETTE – A research team at Purdue University in Indiana, USA, has a patent-pending on a new technique in which it says it’s able to integrate waterproofed electronics within apparel capable of charging wireless devices.

Discussed in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, the smart textile breakthrough is allegedly based on omniphobic triboelectric nanogeneragtors (RF-TENGs) which uses embroidery and fluorinated molecules to embed electronic components within garments.
