MASSACHUSETTS – A team of researchers at MIT’s (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) has developed a method of producing smart fabrics capable of monitoring movement.
The academics say the materials are made up of conventional textile fibres and custom-made functional fibres that sense pressure.
They say it could be leveraged in different garments such as socks and vests, each of which could measure user performance across various activities.
