RALEIGH - The Indian government plans to mitigate the long-term impact of COVID-19 has on industries such as textiles by introducing a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which is expected to boost production and increase capacity for export trade.
Additional incentives will also be offered for manufacturing and shipping of specific textile products made of man-made fibres and technical textiles.
However, this scheme, coupled with new agricultural laws, could also see a sharp rise in the cost of raw materials in years to come, suggests procurement intelligence supplier, Beroe.
