MILAN - Leading industry stakeholders, including H&M's sustainability head Pascal Brun and Sean Cady, VP for global supply chain and responsible sourcing at VF Corp, will be among the speakers at the Planet Textiles event next month.

Also speaking will be Amina Razvi, CEO of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC);  Andrew Martin, the SAC's executive VP; Angela Ng, director of the Higg Index Facility Tools; Baptiste Carriere-Pradal, chair of the Policy Hub; Giovanni Zenteno, sustainable finance director at the Apparel Impact Institute; and Kathleen Rademan, director of Fashion for Good's Innovation Platform.

Lenzing's VP sustainability Krishna Manda; Nienke Steen, global lead for apparel, textiles and footwear at the Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation and Sophie Mathers, founding director of The Microfibre Consortium are also among the list of speakers with more names still to be announced.

Sessions will include an exploration of the European Commission's recently announced Green Claims Directive, the challenges of decarbonisation in supply countries, and how best to tackle microfibre shedding.

The event will also examine how technological process in the industry might help to achieve climate goals, manufacturers' perspectives on environmental and social challenges facing the industry, and how best to navigate the sea of textile and apparel certifications and chemical inventory tools. 

Planet Textiles will take place from 12th-13th June at ITMA 2023 - the world’s largest international textile and garment technology exhibition - in Milan, Italy. Register by CLICKING HERE

It will be the 11th edition of the event, run in partnership with MCL News and Media, and the first time it has been held over two days. It comes four years after the previous event, at Barcelona in 2019, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
