ANN ARBOR – Kraig Biocraft Laboratories has announced it is working to create ‘custom designed transgenic silkworms’ as part of a new contract with the US Army.
The resultant silk polymers will be tested against specified performance requirements and the most suitable materials will be scaled up to produce upwards of 100kg of the silk thread.
