ZURICH – Swiss textile innovator HeiQ says its Viroblock NPJ03 treatment has been proven to be of cosmetic-grade and contains both bio-based and recycled ingredients.

Viroblock antimicrobial solution – which is a combination of vesicle and silver technologies that work by binding to viral sulfur groups and depleting their membranes – was recently the subject of third-party testing at the Peter Doherty Institute in Australia, which concluded that it was 99.99 per cent effective against the coronavirus.

As HeiQ looks to find broader applications for its product, it’s offered assurances that it’s “safe and sustainable”, alluding to new results from the Beta Analytics Testing Laboratory which has certified that Viroblock contains 72 per cent bio-based carbon, as well as recycled silver.
