NEW DELHI - India's textiles ministry has launched two Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for the technical textiles industry in a bid to ensure higher standards and quality.

The first phase of the programme will cover 31 items, including 19 geo textiles and 12 protective textiles, while two more QCOs will be launched for 28 items, including 22 of agro textiles and six of medical textiles, in phase two.

Geo-textiles are used for infrastructure projects and environmental applications, while protective textiles are used to protect human life from hazardous and adverse working conditions.
