NEW YORK – Scientists at Cornell University in the US have developed a high-tech knitted glove to treat hand oedema, which is the swelling of the fingers and hands caused by a build-up of fluid. 

The KnitDema glove is made from knitted yarn with thread-like springs woven through it, and works by powering the coils with tiny electrical charges.
