BEAVERTON – Sportswear conglomerate Nike has filed for two patents which relate to smart garment concepts. The first, “an article of footwear with soil-shedding performance”, has been described as a self-cleaning shoe, with a sole that absorbs water from the terrain in one step, and expels it in the next.
The second patent is said to refer to a sensor-laden bodysuit that can accurately teach yoga. The apparel connects with a smartphone app that teaches a user how to position themselves, and vibrates if any of the sensors are misaligned.
