CALIFORNIA – Researchers from the Berkeley School of Information claim to have developed a new colour changing ‘smart thread’ technology which turns fabrics into personalised and functional displays. The ‘Ebb’ project, which is being run in partnership with Google ATAP’s Project Jacquard, sees conductive yarns individually coated with thermochromic paint to allow them to change colour when heated up through an electrical current.
