UTAH – Board members of the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) have petitioned against state governor Garry Herbert and other members of Utah’s political leadership, urging them to reconsider a decision to back a resolution, advising President Trump to overturn the newly-designated Bears Ears National Monument.

The association has also called for "industry unity and support for small and midsize companies" at this year's Outdoor Retailer (OR) trade show, to be held in Salt Lake City in July, despite recent statements from outdoor leaders (including Patagonia and Polartec) saying they intend to boycott the event as a result of the resolution.
