LONDON – UK clothing import markets have been seriously disrupted by the UK’s decision to leave the European Union (EU). After the sharp fall in the Pound after the vote to leave the EU, overall clothing imports have decreased by 10 per cent, a new report claims. The Emerging Textiles report says prices have risen sharply, while the volume of shipments has decreased. While the report mainly focusses on knitted and woven garments, Emerging Textiles say there was a significant difference between previous years, with export prices down and volume of imports increasing.
