KANSAS – Researchers at Kansas State University have earned the 2017 R&D 100 Award for their work on integrating micro-structured semiconductor neutron detectors within textiles. Funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the research team has created a vest capable of detecting dangerous radiation levels – a technology which is now a commercial prospect for the military.
