WASHINGTON – A new study by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has found that nurses – some of which pregnant – are in some cases not wearing protective gowns and gloves when administering antineoplastic drugs to cancer patients.

These drugs, while vital for cancer patients, can threaten a nurse’s healthy cells as well as those of a developing baby.
