LONDON - A programme that has backed 2,500 British SMEs - including many in the textile sector - to adopt new digital technology and skills is to be extended for three more years after securing another £6.1 million (US$6.8m) in funding.

Made Smarter was launched in the north west of England in 2018 but has since been rolled out to other regions including the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, the West Midlands, the West of England and the East Midlands.

The technology adoption programme helps small and medium-sized companies start their digital journey by providing them with specialist advice to help them select the right approach, level of investment and digital tools.
