MILAN - More than 111,000 visitors from across 143 countries gathered for ITMA Milan this month, surpassing the numbers reached at the last edition in 2019.

Recovering from the impact of the pandemic, the attendance demonstrated the resilience of the global textile industry, organisers said, with the exhibition offering a vital close-up of the latest textile technology developments from more than 1,700 exhibitors. The top six visitor countries were Italy (29%), followed by Turkey, India and Germany (6% each), France (4%) and Brazil (3%).

“This edition has been a great success with the visitorship higher than the previous exhibition in 2019,” said Ernesto Maurer, president of CEMATEX. “At this ITMA, the transformation journey toward digitalisation and sustainability has taken a huge leap forward.
