HONG KONG – Textile innovator Stealth has launched a ‘first-to-market’ apparel seaming technology which eliminates stitching in lightweight fabrics.

The patented solution uses a combination of sonic and high-frequency welding to bind synthetic fabrics, creating a bond 50 per cent stronger than conventional methods which might require glues or tapes.

Karl Lu, who developed the technology, commented: “There’s too much outdoor gear today that fails after only a few seasons – we wanted to create performance products that last. We know that 80 per cent of the climate impact happens in manufacturing, so making durable gear that lasts longer is key in our sustainability efforts.”
