STONY BROOK – Molecular technologies specialist Applied DNA Sciences (ADNAS) has received a Notice of Allowance for its outstanding US patent application, entitled Method and Device for Marking Fibrous Materials.

With a patent set to be issued in the coming months, it cements ADNAS’ ambition of improving traceability and transparency within cotton supply chains through the use of its DNA marker technology.

James Hayward, president and CEO of the New York outfit, commented: “Despite the downturn in global economic activity that has impacted the global textile supply chains we serve, supply chain certainty and social responsibility remain fundamental to the textile industry’s long-term strategy.
