NEW YORK - Surging use of polyester fibres in applications such as fabrics for conveyor belts and coated materials, along with growing public awareness about the beneficial traits of synthetics, such as wear resistance, recyclability, and high flexibility and strength, are major factors expected to drive the expansion of the global synthetic fibres market over the next decade, according to a new report.

Market consultancy firm, Prescient and Strategic Intelligence (P&S) says the polyester category carried the flag for the sector during the COVID-19 pandemic and synthetics are expected to bounce back and exhibit huge expansion over the next decade after generating US$60 billion in 2020.
