QATAR - The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), which delivers infrastructure to the construction sites of stadiums which will feature in the 2022 World Cup, has rolled out thousands of cooling vests to its workers which are said to reduce a wearer’s skin temperature by 15°C.

Temperatures in Qatar regularly exceed 40°C, making it difficult for construction workers to operate. Since the country won its bid to host the World Cup in 2022 – which was announced at a ceremony in 2010 – the country has been tasked with building nine new stadiums and renovating a further three to accommodate thousands of fans and 32 teams.
