MINNESOTA – US print solutions specialist Stratasys has launched what it says is the industry’s first 3D printer for direct-to-textile applications.

Its J850 TechStyle 3D printer, part of its PolyJet range, can print on denim, cotton, polyester, linen and leather garments in volumes as high as tens of thousands, the firm says.

“As far back as 2019, I predicted that in just a couple years we would see 3D printing incorporated into high-end fashion houses. That time is here,” said Naomi Kaempfer, Stratasys’ art, design and fashion director.
