DELAWARE – Scientists at the University of Delaware and the U.S. Army Research Laboratory have developed a shear thickening fluid – Liquid Armor – which fabricates a suspended fibre with silica and polymers. This textile technology, which hardens on impact to improve its puncture and ballistic-resistance, is set to be used by NASA on space expeditions.
