MELBOURNE - Scientists say they have developed a cost-efficient method for rapidly producing waterproof smart fabrics embedded with energy storage devices.
Researchers at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, used laser printing to produce a 10 centimetre square textile patch that’s waterproof, stretchable and readily integrated with energy harvesting technologies in just three minutes.
The technology enables graphene supercapacitors – powerful and long-lasting energy storage devices that are easily combined with solar or other sources of power – to be laser printed directly onto textiles.
