CLEVELAND / DUREN - Ohio-based microplastic filter specialist Cleanr has linked up with GKD Group, a German woven mesh filtration manufacturer, to work together on reducing plastic microfibre pollution from washing machines.

The two companies will collaborate in the development, engineering and manufacturing of Cleanr’s patent-pending technology which claims to capture more than 90% of microplastic fibres larger than 50 microns in size.

They aim to help washing machine manufacturers meet new and emerging regulations aimed at eliminating plastic microfibre pollution from global waterways, ecosystems and food chains.
