LEVERKUSEN – Covestro has teamed up with shoe machinery manufacturer, ATOM, to develop a method of bonding the outsole of shoes to the shoe upper via digital printing, with polyurethane raw materials used as adhesives. As a result, ATOM Lab, the company’s R&D business unit, will presnet the autonomous shoe production technology at the Simac Tanning Tech trade fair which will be held in Milan, Italy, from 20-22 February.
